A word from Tommy:
25 years ago today Scotland was shocked by the disaster and tragic death of 167 workers on the Piper Alpha oil platform. Among the dead was Robert Cleland, my best pal through childhood. His father Gavin was a tireless campaigner for the families of the victims; you can read his take on Robert and his death here. Gavin passed away himself a few years ago. The family are always on my mind at this time of year.
