It seems this year is a milestone for several pop culture mainstays.  Between Hellboy‘s 20th anniversary and the Ghostbuster’s 30th, fans all over the world are going bats for The Dark Knight’s 75th.  Today is “Batman Day”.

The character is notable for a number of reasons but of all the superheroes Batman might be the most amenable to adaptation, modification and (re)interpretation.  From satirical pop art sitcoms to deadly serious blockbuster movies, sprawling video game epics and cute vinyl collectibles, it’s all Batman.

A favourite comic around the Studio is the Batman: Black & White anthology series wherein wildly divergent stories by cartoonists from around the world sit side by side.  We were inspired to take our own stylistic swipes at the Caped Crusader.
