The Scottish Cartoon Art Studio is delighted to be part of Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year and their free festival at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery & Museum on the 21st of July. Full details of everything that’s happening on the day are online now.
The Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year is a new art talent show and UK-wide celebration of portraiture of all kinds, with festivals taking place in Cardiff, Dublin, Glasgow and London during the summer. The production is being mounted by Storyvault Films with a six part series presented by Joan Bakewell and Frank Skinner to be screened on Sky Arts HD in the autumn.
We will be contributing caricature workshops for children during the Glasgow leg of the competition which will see Kelvingrove host a festival of portraiture. We’ll also be talking about our work, including Fizzers® as well doing live drawings of visitors to the museum throughout the day.
This looks like a fantastic series in the making and we can’t wait to add a touch of humour to the proceedings.
To pre-book a place at one of the workshops, please contact Storyvault directly: festivalbookings@storyvault.tv Some places will also be made available on the day.
